Current character level: 39 I took a trip through the AMF Headquarters last night, it was mostly easy going thanks to my SUPER AWESOME LASERS. I really need to get a powerful Laser Cannon, the one I’m using at the moment is the 9 star Yohmei, so no matter how many times it’s been grinded it’ll never really match up to a 10 or 11 star GRM one. I’ll tell you what though, the route is going to be awesome when they add the S2 difficulty. Unless of course we’re all far too powerful; we’ll have Master classes by then after all. Mother Brain put up a very respectable challenge actually, moreso than I was expecting. Maybe I got the super rare Mother Brain with red eyes or something. Stupid rumours abound in this game. Whatever, I was down to the bare minimum of healing items, and only had two Scape Dolls left… But I did it. Hey, I was thinking about how they could do Acromaster… Attack speed increase over Base, Advanced, and Hybrid classes S rank Slicers Level 50 Skills Does this sound as wacky as something Sega team could come up with? Seperating the Barrier Techs from Offensive and Support Techs – It’d mean other Techer classes wouldn’t be broken. I mean, if all the other Techer classes only got level 10 then they’d only get 1 barrier before a recast is needed, give it a stupid high PP cost for level 10 with PP reductions at later levels for the Acromaster. Current character level: 35 (But almost level 3 Fortegunner!) Yes, robots are evil. I decided it was time to bite the bullet resistance and fight some robots. Train Rescue, Grove of Fanatics and Desert Goliath. The Dilla Greina was a bit of a pain and Adahna Degahna took a bit of a long time but all in all it was relatively plain sailing. A long slog, but plain sailing. Until I came face to metal crotch with Magas Maghanna. Magashi’s SUV has a reputation for handing out beatings and generally being quite tough, but I was not prepared for him to rob me of 4 Scape Dolls and for the battle to last almost 15 minutes! I’m glad I knew his shoulders were his weak spot otherwise I would’ve been there for a lot longer. Still, the warm glow after my victory was very well deserved. I also ran through Denes Relics, even on B De Ragnus wasn’t up to much. Amazing drop news: I found a Relic Edge, so that’s tokkybot ver.2′s first million Meseta! Next up is De Rol Le and the AMF Parum route ending with Mother Brain then after that it’s the HIVE and Rykros… I’m not exactly scared to run them, I’m sure it will be fine, but… I dunno. Please let it be fine. Phantasy Star Zero on the Nintendo DS. It reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles; the super-deformed characters look nice, but that style is not really my cup of tea. Which time period is it set? What classes are there? Will there be a character creation tool or do you choose from pre-sets? Is it more a story based game or an MMO style dungeon crawler? So many questions! I’ve been looking around the internet to find more information and to generally see what people think so far, and it’s really surprising the amount of people who want it to be just like or go back to the roots of Phantasy Star Online… Damn, if you want to play something just like Phantasy Star Online, why not play Phantasy Star Online? Blue Burst has been free to play for ages now! Further updates and stuff will be posted on the forum. I sympathise, I really do.
So, the Large Hadron Collider is due to be turned on later this week. Will it create a Black Hole that will destroy not only our planet but our entire Galaxy? Of course it won’t, stupid.
But that is one hell of a Public Relations “win-win” scenario. If, as the experts who worked on the LHC say, it doesn’t create a Black Hole which would end our existence – Their prediction will be proved correct. If, as the Doomsday predictors say, it does cause a Black Hole which instantly destroys our planet and kills us all… Who’s to know? Current character level: 29 First, some thanks. I asked in this entry if anyone knew what happened to the list of missions ordered by level requirement I remember seeing on PSUpedia once… The ever-knowledgable and fellow PSU enthusiast strawdonkey obliged and pointed me in the right direction. I’ll be following that list, taking in the hardest missions the game can offer at my level. This will also open up all the mid-lobbies, making travel to any missions much easier in future. Thank you strawdonkey. Thawdonkey. Laser Cannons then. I’d heard their power and useablilty had been improved, but I had no idea how much so! The damage against a single enemy was almost comparable to that of a rifle, but they really come into their own when up against a group of enemies. Because the shots of a Laser Cannon penetrate and hit multiple enemies the damage can be incredible. They can also now inflict Status Effects on any or all enemies they hit, not just the first enemy they hit which used to be the case. Another great feature is that the elemental percentage on them is high, so with the correct alignment their damage output can be massively increased. All in all, I’m looking forward to getting them up to a higher tier, they have proved very useful even in the short time I have used them. Continue reading Project tokkybot: Laser Cannons in “Quite good” shocker Current character level: 27 People finally joined me on a GBR run! Mostly running B missions got me up to Fortegunner just as I was getting sleepy, so I couldn’t be bothered to sort out my new equips or do any shopping. Meseta seems to not be as much of a problem this time around, even though I’m only permitting myself to spend on tokkybot what tokkybot generates, so I think a Phantom rifle and a nice Shotgun are well within reach. Also, reaching Fortegunner means I can start using Laser Cannons. My only previous experience with them was as a low level Guntecher when A ranks first came out but I’ve heard they’ve been beefed up quite dramatically since Ambition of the Illuminus. An annoying observation I made whilst running the GBR is that there are a lot of people still scared of challenge. A low level Techer (with a low ID number I might add) entered the party, he had quite good equipment, a nicely ground Ranpegi and a Tesbra, obviously someone’s second or third character. He fired off a few Ramegids and stuck around for a bit, but I assume he just got bored as there was no level 80 guy there to one shot everything after he “got hits in”, stating “This is taking too long man, I’m so bored”. It was a slow process, sure, a couple of low level guys taking on White Beast B, but if you stick with it then sure you won’t level up quickly, but you’ll grow in terms of knowledge of your class, your limitations, and the properties of your Photon Arts. In my opinion, this is more important than getting to the level cap as uickly as possible. Current character level: 23 Massive jump in levels there, mostly thanks to getting Phantom Fissure. I ran Sacred Stream C, the party was open so other low level peoples could join if they wished… Ah well, their loss. I could only run PF on C, but the rewards and EXP were insane, especially for a level 20 character. Seems that is where all the Zoona got to, I saw more of them in that one run than I have in the last six months! I had to go back to the lobby at the end of each block to sell all the handgun boards the Nava Ludda were dropping, and I may have missed out on all the rooms that needed four players to activate the switches, but it was worth it having all the EXP to myself. The Grass Assassins at the end were slightly problematical, but the EXP they gave was just incredible. I also started raising a PM, the cash injection from PF was a massive help. Seeing as the character I overwrote with tokkybot ver.2 had a Partner Machine the specialised in Armour, I bought loads of Kouze shoes. Cheap but very high *’s, she should be battle ready in a few days. |
