Following on from this post, Jane’s Xbox 360 has been returned in record time. Well, I say returned, Microsoft decided that it’d be quicker just to send a replacement. Not even a refurb job, but a brand spanking new 360 as far as I can tell. That was a quick turn-around, eh? Less than a week – She was very impressed. All hail Microsoft, etc.
Now we can play the last bit of the PSU event together, yay!
It’ll be interesting to go back and play Alpha and Beta on S a year and a half on, especially now they’ve upped the v.1 drop-rates. I remember last time, it was annoying because there was all these things we wanted but they never dropped. I also remember trying one of the missions by myself when it first came out, and hiding from the Svaltus at the top of the stairs. I doubt I’ll be doing that on S (maybe even S2) this time around.
It’s also alerted me as to how disappointing the drops are in this event (maybe even in PSU in general nowadays), as it’s not the next tier of stuff dropping, like 12* Twin Claw boards, 12* Knuckles boards or 12* Axe boards, but rubbish Crea “+” stuff and rubbish Kubara stuff. Either that, or the same stuff we’ve been collecting for the last year and a half.
I think that’s a good way to say it.
RFSFIV2WKLY Tourney
Random Fury Street Fighter IV Fortnightly (every 2 weeks (weekly)) Tournament. Although explaining it and spelling it out like that makes me look like I doubt your intelligence, dear readers.
…
Anyway, who won this time around? No-one! The warning signs were there early in the week to be honest, with people popping into the thread saying they might not be able to make it, would try their best to make it and wouldn’t be able to make it. Round 2 was cancelled at around 8:01, and at around 8:02, Jane’s Xbox 360 exhibited the infamous three red lights for the second time in its existence.
James and I had a few rounds just for fun like, although it was only a few rounds (He found out first hand exactly how bad the internet connection here is…), then I went off to xbox.com to sort out Jane’s Xbox’s second trip to Germany.
Last night we had our first Fortnightly Random Fury Street Fighter IV Tournament. It was great fun! Everyone being in the same party almost recreated the buzz of an arcade or someone’s front room, the only drawback being we couldn’t watch any of the matches other than our own.
Here’s Dante explaining the format.
Each match could be 1 game, best of 5 rounds (best of three games might drag on too long) but we’d use a double elimination system, so everyone gets to play at least two games and the whole thing isn’t over in five minutes.
One loss will put you in the losers bracket, a second will knock you out of the tournament. The winners of the winners and losers brackets face each other in the grand final, but the guy from losers has to win two consecutive games to take the prize (his first win resets both finalists to 0-0). The most consecutive games anyone can end up playing is six, the minimum is two.
And here are the results.
Here’s what people had to say after the tournament:
Fucking RUFUS
Fucking CAMMY
Fucking VEGA
Fucking BLANKA
As you can see, we had a great time!

Erm… So, the 2nd Anniversary Thanks Festa begins today and as far as I can tell it has no official name. I guess they can’t call it the 2nd Anniversary anything, as they’re six months too late for that.
Still, lots of stuff to look for, I have lots of levelling up to do if I’m to stay on course to have three characters ready for the GUARDIANS Advanced Styles and the Guld & Milla will finally be added to the Arms Dealer trade mission.

I stumbled upon this today and I was very impressed. The writing is clear, concise and gives an interesting insight into what the future of our version will (may) be like. GUARDIANS Advanced Styles, eh?
We’re still not 100% sure if we’re getting GUARDIANS Cash over here in PSU-360-land, but reading the post about it has sure enlightened me a bit. I’m not really for or against it at this point, after all, if people want to spend real money on in-game items then that’s up to them, but I can’t see myself doing it.
