![]() see more Lolcats and funny pictures The likeness is just uncanny. I know I usually do this post on a Sunday, but I wasn’t feeling up to typing stuff out last night, so do forgive me. So then. David’s Stag Night – an abridged version of Saturday night’s journey. These two games are sure to be amazing, and we get a taste of both of them in the next couple of weeks. April 30th – Super Street Fighter IV is released. Although Super Street Fighter IV is pretty much just an expansion of the vanilla Street Fighter IV, the stuff it does add is looking really good. My favourite character ever, for one thing (Adon). I love what they’ve done with his theme. It was fuck-yeah-awesome already, now it’s just out of this world. Old version: Fuck-yeah-awesome new version: As well as Adon, there’s new online modes, you can save replays at will (in vanilla SFIV you could only save your own replays if you were in the top 5,000 players, something I would never be capable of), and the old-school car-bashing, barrel-smashing bonus rounds are back too. And new Halo, well, what can I say? The Reach Multiplayer Beta hits soon, and I’m really looking forward to it. If they can bring back some of that Halo 2 magic, I’ll be a happy chappy. I love how your Spartan is totally customisable, and will be unified across all game modes, I’ve been wanting that for years. And Jet-packs! I’ve been on about them since I saw an Elite fly past in Halo: Combat Evolved and I wanted to try one out for myself. Continue reading Looking forward to new Halo and new Street Fighter Today I am bringing you the Cheezburger network website: Bob’s House of Video Games. It’s quite funny, but there’s not much on there at the moment. ![]() see more at Bob’s House of Video Games Is this because they took the BR out of Halo 3: ODST? Get over it, people! It is time for Battle Rifle reform. I went back and re-read this post the other day – it was most enlightening. I was so sad back then, I look back and it’s genuinely hard for me to recognise my own writing. I mean, I know it’s just words on a screen, it’s not hand-written, but it’s hard for me to see that it was me. Continue reading I’m not the same person I was seven years ago Remember this? I didn’t get it. Fucksakes. It’s all good though. The sun is shining, so I went for a nice long walk in the beautiful weather, picked up a couple of application forms for some more jobs, it cleared my head and my sinuses. And I found a pack of cigarettes in my bag when I thought I had run out. Bonus.
I had trouble getting “The Works” Achievement. For this, Chris attacks an enemy with a melee attack, then Sheva follows up quickly with a melee attack, then Chris finishes the enemy off with a final melee blow. I found it best to do this in mission 6-1 (the boat) versus the Big-Man Majini – but I guess you could do it on any mission with a Big-Man Majini in it. I found this one to be the easiest as the enemy in question is located quite early on in the level and he’s alone. Now, be sure to bring a flash grenade with you. Go through the level as normal, you’ll know he’s near when there’s a little cut-scene of some dogs jumping out of a freight container. Kill the two or three guys that rush towards you and, if you remember, he should be hiding just around the corner. Ready your grenade, strafe around the corner, throw it at his feet then run towards him. As he’s staggering around, mash X. Chris will hit him, then Sheva should hit him, then Chris will do a back-fist type thing and the Achievement will pop. You have to almost mash the X button so the combo happens very swiftly, none of the tips I initially found on the internet mentioned the button pushes have to be quite fast! Getting the final figure (rare Wesker) means being awarded an S rank at the end of each chapter – don’t worry, it’s not that hard – you can do this on Amateur. Best to combine this endeavour with getting your completion time for the Amateur difficulty level down to under 5 hours. While the infinite ammo Rocket Launcher isn’t directly connected to any Achievement, it can help greatly in the acquisition of some of them, and I would say it’s essential for a Pro run. Be sure to get your Amateur time down to under 5 hours! Getting all the treasures was a bit of a pain. I had most of them after one run but one of them in particular was so well hidden it was obscene – like me, you’ll probably be missing the Topaz (Oval). In mission 6-1 (the boat, again!) there are two Majini standing on top of the crane that moves to trap Sheva in the middle of the level. Sniping these two enemies before Sheva has been trapped allows you to pick the jewels up after Sheva has been trapped, a little further on in the level (roughly where the two Big-Man Majini spawn). Killing thirty enemies with the Stun Rod, Gatling Gun and Sheva’s Bow are easily achieved on the very first stage where lots and lots of Majini come for you and Sheva suggests you run towards a nearby house. Sure, on your first run through that was a good idea, but when you have a Stun Rod, Gatling Gun or the Bow it can be quite easy as all those weapons have infinite usage. With the Rod, let them come to you – swipe it at them when they’re close enough. One hit should put them down for good. Stand your ground with the Gatling Gun and just hold the trigger, easy enough. The Bow can be tricky as it doesn’t have a targeting laser, but the fast firing speed and the impressive piercing power make up for that. It’s easy to correct a missed shot by quickly following up with another, and any advancing Majinis behind the one you’re aiming at will go down too. I found this is also the best place to get the Lead Aspirin Achievement. Simply mow down the first wave, then push on to either the left or the right, where enemies are climbing over fences to get at you. Time a Shotgun blast to their face as they are dropping down to floor level – aim high and the spray of pellets should net you some Gamerscore. I still have to finish off Professional difficulty, but it shouldn’t be too bad now I’ve got the Rocket Launcher’s infinite ammo and enough money to buy as many First Aid Sprays as I need. Overall, good gaem!!!!
That’s, what, eight months in a row now? I really need to put a note somewhere I can see it to remind myself. I spent most of last night playing the Blur multiplayer Beta (Blur? Take the real cars of PGR, mix them with Mario Kart weapons that have been designed by the little spaceship from Geometry Wars). Pretty good fun on first impressions, and very pretty, but the handling of the cars is awful and soon outweighs the fun of the weapons. Anyway, it’s not even like the Achievement is worth a whole lot of points, it’s 0 Gamerscore, I JUST FUCKING WANT IT. Ah, so funny. Bad puns are awesome. Remember this? More specifically, the post about how I can’t get a picture of a fox? Well, I got some. Granted, the fox was injured and not at all itself – out in plain sight in the daylight, hobbling around on three legs with a back end ravaged by mange – I still got some pics though! The first picture was taken from the boys’ bedroom window, the second from the kitchen window. It’s so odd to see a fox during daylight, even more so to see it curled up in open ground during daylight. The third picture was taken a short while after, it had gotten up and had a quick drink from the pond. You can see it doesn’t look itself just from the expression on it’s face. Poor thing. The man from the RSPCA came and took it away. From what I’ve seen on TV vet programs, if the bone is broken than they’ll probably put it down. If it’s just a sprain or muscle problem then he’ll be treated and released back to the wild. I hope it’s just a sprain, poor thing. We’re not expecting an update on the fox’s condition, but if we get one I’ll let you know. |
