Pixeldaddy

An old school-friend of mine who has a background in graphic design (and pretty much all things visually creative) has recently gone freelance. If anyone needs any rebranding, logos designed or if you just want to check out some really very lovely images, get in contact with Michael at Pixeldaddy.

Ten days off

I have ten days off work starting tomorrow. Rough itinerary is as follows:

Sunday: Go see Otis.
Monday: Haircut.
Tuesday: Town to get ideas for wedding.
Wednesday: App development.
Thursday: Visit possible wedding location.
Friday: App development.
Saturday: App development.
Sunday: App development.
Monday: App development.
Tuesday: App development.

It’s going to go so quickly, but I’ll try to get some serious progress going on the WP7 front and not spend all week playing on the Xbox.

We are getting married this year

Or maybe next year, if the right place isn’t available until then. With all her recent stress at work, Jane has decided to take the bull by the horns and we are going to just do it. All I’ve had to do so far is choose a waistcoat colour for me, Lewis, Ethan, Colin and my best man to wear – after some deliberation I went with baby blue. I’m hoping David will be my best man (need to ask him lol), and I’d really like Otis to have a matching waistcoat as well, that’d be super cute. We’re going to go and look at posible locations next week, exciting!

Well, the support forum is up and running. At the moment, as I have nothing to support, it’s more of a progress forum. And sadly, the first things I’m doing is design work, and I have no way of creating vector graphics… I mocked up the first logo in Paint and it’s pretty basic. Gonna have to have a look around the web for free vector software.

Oh yeah, the name is RFbytes. We had a brainstorming session and that’s the one that stuck in my head.

My 2011 year in blogging

I had been meaning to read this email for ages, but only got around to it today. It’s another reason why WordPress is incredible.

My 2011 year in blogging.

New PC is epic

It’s just so fast and lovely and Windows 7 is amazing. All I needed to do was plug things into it and it’d go “Alright then, start using the thing you just plugged in”. A far cry from the old PC which needed to be configured here, there and everywhere, and have it’s hand held all along the way.

I’ve just downloaded the SDK for Windows Phone 7. A bit daunting, but just having a quick little look around the MSDN forums – the support for new developers is immense. I think the first thing I’ll do is install a new phpBB forum for feedback on the stuff I create. The second thing I need to do is devise a name for my endevours. I have entrusted Jane to come up with something more interesting than “Random Fury Software”, which is the pinnacle of my imaginations thus far.

Also, we went shopping to Fareham today and I bought some Deadmau5 CDs. So far, so fucking awesome. I also bought a Mark Watson DVD, a David Mitchell DVD and a polo shirt. I did not however, buy any books, even though I had £20 of Waterstones vouchers to spend. Is it wrong I’m tempted by a Kindle?

Happy New Year!

2011 was good, but also kinda shit.

I remember back when I started this blog, I intended to use it to explain about my depression, and for Jane to give her input as well, but that never happened really. I never really knew how to put it into words. And now it’s the other way around. Jane is suffering from depression and my input is… Well, non-existant. I still don’t know how to put it into words. She is experiencing mental anguish and I have no idea how to help.

Still, I lost loads of weight, 4 inches off my waist, bought loads of cool things with the money I get paid every month by Asda for selling cheap DVDs to people, and proposed to Jane atop the Spinnaker Tower. So it wasn’t all bad – but let’s hope 2012 is just generally better all round.

Happy New Year everybody!
